Step 8: Select Your Options
Option 1: Double Wrapped Foam Cores ($29.97)
The main defense of the cover's core absorbing water is the vapor barrier surrounding the foam. Double wrapping the foam cores (adding a second sealed 6 mil vapor barrier) can double the life span of a cover.
Add double-wrapped foam core:
Option 2: Reflex Energy Shield ($44.97)
Adding the optional Reflex Energy Shield base material on bottom of your spa cover will greatly increase the covers insulating ability. The reflective ability of the Reflex Energy Shield reflects radiant heat back down to the spa.
Add reflex-energy shield:
Option 3: Higher Density Foam Cores ($54.97)
Heartland Extreme: Upgrading from the 1-Lb density foam to a 1.5-Lb density foam will make your cover stronger. This is recommended for areas where more than two feet of snow regularly accumulate on the cover.
Add higher density 1.5-pound foam core:
Option 4: Reinforced Hinge ($24.97)
Additionally reinforce the hinge by adding an extra layer consisting of the same 1-1/2" wide nylon webbing the handles are made from. This upgrade consists of a strip of nylon webbing running the entire length of the hinge and provides exceptional strength!
Reinforced Hinge:
Option 5: Hot Spring Plate
($34.97)
For Hot Spring Covers only. If your Hot Springs cover uses a cover lift that bolts to the cover, you must add this option if you plan to continue to use the lifter.
