Install Hot Tubs

Installing a hot tub requires a basic understanding of electrical wiring and plumbing.  Unless you have expertise in these areas, it is highly recommended that you contact a licensed contractor to install the hot tub for you.

Hot tubs purchased through a dealer usually include a hot tub installation package so you don't have to worry about installing your hot tub.  For individuals in rural areas with expertise in electrical wiring and plumbing here are a few hot tub installation tips:

  • A water filled hot tub typically weighs around 3,000 to 5,000 pounds.  Any structure it sits on must be capable of withstanding this extreme amount of weight.  If a patio or other stable structure is not available, EZ Pad manufacturers a stable, high density Styrofoam pad that can be used as the secure foundation for any hot tub.

  • The hot tub must be placed on a stable, level surface.

  • Hot tub electrical requirements vary.  Larger hot tubs typically need a 220 volt connection while smaller, portable units can sometimes be plugged into common 110 volt circuitry.
